Oil, 12"x18". Hired by a friends brother to paint a car important to his Dad, we drove it to China Basin in San Francisco. An old district, it was interesting to paint, the brick building had settled in an off balanced way to the street, which had been built up slightly above its ground floor. It was given as a present to the Father. Scanned from an old photograph (some loss of color and texture).
In answer to a couple of questions, as far as I remember this was a Dodge Dart. It was important to the patron, and I enjoyed painting it, although it took some effort to park it in that spot. It does not show up on the reproduction, but I used many layers of thin paint on the car (and the building, as well as texture). In answer to another question, this area was built on landfill, and has a rich history, it is in the South-Eastern part of San Francisco.
